Was working on eyes and mouths today. I wanted to see how far I could push the expressions. I really liked this and might try and do a few more too.

Life Drawing goes Film Noir
This time we whipped out the black paper and the white chalk. Focusing on tonal work. I really enjoy doing this kind of drawing. It is just a shame that every long pose we seem to be doing at the moment is a seated pose. Which can be fun but I would love some variety. I'm still really pleased with this weeks effort. This one took 20 mins
The next couple were some of my favourite warm up exercises we did. This fist one we were just working on walk cycle poses. Each took about 20 seconds I think. Maybe 30.
This was So much fun to do. We had to capture the pose using three lines. It was a challenge but some of them looked so graphic and full of action that you didn't need all the other details. These were done in 15 second intervals.

Animated Projection That Will Blow Your Mind
Spotted this Projection Animation and it blew me away. The idea is so clever and even though you can still see the builidng you kinda get lost in the effect of the projection. It is also sotra creepy too in the way the face rips out of the builidng but I really like it. Could be an awesome idea for an experimental animation.

Light Works
I spotted this video on vimeo and it looked interesting. I Thought at first that the text was edited in after the shoot in the post-production. But it is actually acheived using the bokeh technique. B changing the blurring into words using filters over the lens of the camera. I also found a small behind the scenes of the video as well and it also shone a little more light on the subject. This might be an interesting idea to work an animation into. And might serve well for our up and coming experimental animation project.

New Year, New Sketchbook, New Blogpost
Back from my nice break and I'm ready to kick back into the swing of things. I did a few sketches in my new sketchbook just before I left home to come back to uni. So I though I would share some of them with you. I really enjoyed using the blue pencil to build the figure then working with a proper pencil to finalize the drawing.
